My first sketch to the band featured a wild climate change concept featuring polar bears and dinosaurs that may have left the band scratching their heads. It wasn't approved but rest assured I'll be reworking it into something special in the future. What spurred my second concept along was an article I read about Flea's passion for beekeeping. I then began building a piece of art influenced by some of the inks tattooed onto each band member. There's some tribal influence in the design along with Haida art which I've always loved. The trick is really to get all these disparate elements of bees, bears, coyotes and the star of affinity (band logo) to blend together harmoniously into one image. If you do it right it'll feel like the pieces start to hum and vibrate together in synchronicity.
